This can look like honey-yellow crusting on the skin.This type of infection is very common in the general population and more common and more severe in people with weak immune systems. People who have diabetes or weak immunity are particularly prone to developing cellulitis. 

As said earlier hygiene is better than cure. Infected athletes should not be allowed visiting gyms until treatment renders them noninfectious.
